The Millville Police Athletic League began in early 2005 in response to community neighborhood meetings held throughout the city. Parents expressed the need for positive activities for their children to participate, which were affordable and inclusive of a variety of options. A group of volunteers from the police department, school districts, and local organizations came together to reinstate a newly formed Police Athletic League. Today, most of the same volunteers are working with the police department to continue offering a range of engaging activities throughout the year at little or no cost to families. To date, PAL offers athletics leagues for basketball, wrestling, flag football. In addition, cheerleading, fishing, swimming, recreation and craft nights, miniature golf, bowling, trips to watch professional sports teams, amusement parks, skate nights, area zoo’s, and arts and theatre have been offered to members. Recently PAL has included the Police Explorers program to its list of program offerings. It is the intention of our Board of Trustees to continue to offer a safe and encouraging environment for local youth to flourish and build lifelong connections with their community.
